ECAA AD HOC SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE
SELECTION
PROCESS
CRITERIA
- The applicant must be a regular member in good
standing.
- Preference will be given to those applicants working
toward an assessing designation
(i.e.,
MAA, RMA or CMA).
GUIDELINES
- Each year the scholarship applications will be mailed
by the ECAA no later than
September
15th.
- The deadline for returning applications is October 1st.
- The selection of the recipient(s) will be made by the
Scholarship Committee and awarded at the October meeting of the ECAA.
- Scholarships should be used in the following calendar
year. In the event that a
scholarship is not used within this time-frame due to a personal
emergency, the cancellation of a course, or other extenuating circumstances,
the recipient may request a one-year extension in writing. No extensions beyond one year will be
granted by the Scholarship Committee.
- The Scholarship Committee should avoid any conflicts
of interest in regard to the selection process. More specifically, any member serving on the Scholarship
Committee must abstain from voting on an applicant from his/her office.
- The application must be filled out in its entirety
and returned to the Scholarship Committee in a timely fashion. Explicit attention will be placed on
the education budget for assessors in the applicant’s community.
- A runner up will also be selected for each
scholarship.
